Ella Cicely pours her heart into precious debut single One Day

It’s been a long time coming, but the wait has certainly been worth it, with Ella Cicely releasing official debut single One Day.

The Cheshire-born Australia-based artist dropped the thoughtful, precious song across social media and it’s certainly one to get you in the feels, sat listening to the gentle playing of the keys and the softly sung bittersweet lyrics. One Day is a beautiful song of reflective hope, with Ella Cicely’s vocals so delicately and heartachingly revealing those emotions many of us struggle to interpret.

Produced with devotion by Nelson Moneo, Ella Cicely pours her heart out in the track, using it as a blank canvas to paint the joys and pains that can be found in each of us throughout our lives. We journey to the ends of the earth to find those things that are perhaps right beside us all the while, and yet our search goes on. But perhaps, one day, we may find that calm, as Ella Cicely explains in the post announcing the release:

“Feeling lost is not a new feeling to me, in fact I feel it on the daily, some days I hate it and I feel like I should know what it is I want or how I should be living, and other days I love and crave the uncertainty. I’ve lived in cities, countrysides, in a car, in a van, in the mountains, to perhaps eventually find that place I belong, when in reality, all I really crave is the things I eventually miss, like family and memories and times that I can no longer get back.

“One Day is a wish that perhaps I shall find that moment or place where I don’t feel so lost and get to call it home.”
