The popular Newcastle-under-Lyme Jazz and Blues Festival is back for 2024, marking its 17th year in the town centre.
Organised by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, the three-day event is typically held in May, but has been moved to July to make the most of the summer sun and town centre’s beer gardens.
Running from July 26-28, more than 40 artists will perform across 15 local and independent venues, including Castletown Distillery, Ten Green Bottles, The Crossways and Artisan Tap. It comes as welcome news for the live music scene, coming just weeks after the announcement of the return of Newcastle’s Lymelight Festival and Hanley’s Picadilly Party, hosted by Your City Festival and Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID.
BID Manager Charl Pearce says: “We’re thrilled to announce the return of the Newcastle-under-Lyme Jazz & Blues Festival. The Jazz Festival always makes for a great weekend and is popular amongst the public as well as the hospitality venues in the town.
“Making the decision to move the event from May to July means that event goers will be able to soak up the sun in one of the many beer gardens in the town alongside the sound of fantastic live music.”
Not only is it a wonderful opportunity to support and discover local music, but the Jazz & Blues Festival is also set to bring additional footfall into the town centre to support local businesses, and the venues can’t wait.
Sophie Wagstaff, General Manager at The Clubhouse says: “It was great to be involved in the return of the Jazz & Blues Festival last year. We had five fantastic bands on across the weekend and the atmosphere was fantastic! We can’t wait to be a venue again for this year’s Jazz & Blues, it’s going to be bigger and better!”
